Mode Of Action For Crystal Creek® Ultrasorb
Enzymatic: Results in the degradation of fungal metabolites or the modification of their molecular structure to produce harmless compounds that can be safely metabolized.
Adsorptive: Highly selective bio-active sugars and polarized ions in Ultrasorb bind a wide range of fungal secondary metabolites/mycotoxins. Binding and immobilizing mycotoxins on ions or into a complex with the bio-active sugars is a precursor to their subsequent inactivation and degradation by microbial or enzymatic action.
Microbial: Modulation of the beneficial intestinal microflora helps to maximize the degradation and metabolism of fungal metabolites and enhance the metabolic processes responsible for nutrient uptake and conversion.
Ultrasorb is designed to be added to the ‘total mixed ration’ (TMR) at the time the feed is being mixed. Ultrasorb begins to neutralize mycotoxins immediately when added to the feedstuffs and continues to actively neutralize mycotoxins within the rumen. Research suggests that ingredients found in Crystal Creek® Ultrasorb function well against mycotoxins such as Vomatoxin (DON), T-2, Zearalenone, and Aflatoxin. As animals recover, feeding rates of Ultrasorb can be reduced. Ultrasorb should be fed in conjunction with Fuse 207™ in severe cases.
Directions:
Add to the TMR/ration at time of mixing/feeding fresh each day
Feed 10-30 grams per head per day for the first two weeks or until cows show response.
Note: In some situations, it may be beneficial to feed Fuse 207™ as a basic preventative and use Ultrasorb as a targeted strategy.
