In March 2011, the concern regarding the future of the Wolcottville Organic Feed Mill rose quickly. Due to this, over 80 producers came together to form the Wolcottville Organic Livestock Feed (W.O.L.F.) Cooperative. Their main concern was that futures were solely dependent on the ability to obtain high-quality organic feed for their farming operations.
With the expansion of the organic livestock industry and the profitability of these operations came the expansion of the mill. Five members were elected to explore the possibility of purchasing the mill and forming a cooperative whereby the community would be directly involved in the future of the mill. Their efforts resulted in the formal formation of the WOLF Cooperative, Inc. under the Cooperative Law Statues of the State of Indiana.
WOLF Cooperative’s vision is to secure the availability and price stability of high-quality organic livestock feed and supplies for the community.
